Online photo editor

Adjust brightness, contrast, saturation and warmth, tap a one-click Look, draw on the photo, add captions, stickers or a frame — then download in JPG, PNG or WebP. Free, right in your browser, with nothing uploaded.

How to edit a photo online

  1. 1. Drop a photo onto the tool or click to choose a file. It opens instantly — there is nothing to upload first.
  2. 2. Tap a Look, pick a tool — Draw, shapes, Text or Sticker — or move the sliders. Hold Compare at any point to see the untouched original.
  3. 3. Choose JPG, PNG or WebP and hit Download — the edited photo is saved straight from your browser at the original resolution.

The one-tap Looks

Every Look is a named combination of the same sliders you can move yourself — no hidden formulas, no re-imagined pixels. Tapping one sets the sliders so you can keep refining.

Look What it does Sliders it sets
Natural No edits — the neutral starting point. No edits
Vivid More punch: extra color and contrast. +14 contrast · +28 color
Soft Gentler contrast, slightly faded color. +6 brightness · -16 contrast · -10 color
Golden Warm orange cast, a touch more color. +4 contrast · +10 color · +45 warmth
Arctic Cool blue cast, quieter color. +6 contrast · -4 color · -45 warmth
Moody Darker and punchier, with darkened edges. -8 brightness · +24 contrast · -14 color · -12 warmth · +40 vignette
Mono Black & white with extra contrast. +22 contrast · -100 color
Vintage Faded, warm and slightly vignetted. +4 brightness · -8 contrast · -40 color · +38 warmth · +32 vignette

Adjustments explained

Five sliders cover the light and color corrections every image editor gets asked for — no layers to wrestle:

Brightness
Lightens or darkens the whole photo. Faded night shots and dim indoor snaps.
Contrast
Separates light from dark. A small boost helps photos that look hazy or flat.
Saturation
Color intensity — from muted film looks all the way to black & white.
Warmth
Shifts the color balance between a cool blue cast and a warm orange one. Handy for indoor shots that came out too yellow or photos taken in blue evening light.
Vignette
Darkens the edges to draw the eye toward the centre of the frame.

Text on photo, drawing, stickers & frames

The tool rail sits at the top of the editor, above the photo, so every tool is one tap away — pick a tool, its options appear right below, and you work directly on the image:

Draw
A freehand ink brush. Pick a color and a thickness, then trace on the photo — great for circling the important part of a picture or signing off a proof.
Shapes
Rectangle, oval and arrow outlines in the same ink. Press and drag on the photo; the shape snaps in on release.
Text on photo
Type a caption, tap the photo to place it, tap again anywhere for another. Caption height is a percentage of the photo, so it scales with your file, and text keeps the exact ink color you chose — the quick way to add text to image posts and cards. For tiled, angled or logo watermarks, use the dedicated Watermark tool instead.
Stickers
Emoji stamps: pick one, tap to place, tap again for more. They render as part of the photo on export.
Frame & rounded corners
A colored border drawn inside the photo's edges (as a percentage of the shorter side) and corner roundness up to a full capsule. Rounded corners export with transparency in PNG and WebP; JPG fills them white.

Two details worth knowing: ink, captions and stickers keep their own color — brightness, warmth and the rest apply to the photo underneath them, never to your annotations. And because annotations live in photo coordinates, a later rotate or flip carries them along.

Supported formats

Format Open as input Save as output Good to know
JPG / JPEG Yes Yes — default Lossy — the quality slider applies. Transparency flattens to white.
PNG Yes Yes Lossless — the quality slider is ignored. Transparency kept.
WebP Yes Yes Usually the smallest file; transparency kept.
AVIF Yes (recent browsers) Export as JPG, PNG or WebP instead Browsers decode AVIF but can't encode it yet — details in the compatibility section below.

Output behavior

  • Pixel dimensions are never changed — an edited 4032×3024 photo still downloads at 4032×3024. Rotating a portrait swaps the width and height, which is exactly what a rotation should do.
  • The download re-renders through the same pipeline as the preview, so the file matches what you see — Looks, every slider, drawings, captions, stickers, frame and rounded corners included.
  • Rounded corners follow the transparency rules: PNG and WebP keep the cut corners transparent, JPG fills them white along with any other transparent areas.
  • EXIF, GPS and camera metadata are stripped, because the output is re-encoded. That is good for privacy and one of the reasons the file is often smaller.
  • At very high JPG quality the file can occasionally end up larger than the original — lower the quality slider or pick WebP if size matters.

Privacy

This photo editor works completely offline in your browser. Your photo is read into memory, edited onto a canvas, and handed back as a download. Nothing is transmitted to any server, and closing the tab discards everything.

Browser & device compatibility

  • JPG, PNG and WebP work in every modern browser.
  • AVIF input needs a recent browser — current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari 16+. On older browsers you'll see a clear message instead of a broken result.
  • Drawing on touch devices: while a drawing tool is active, the canvas doesn't scroll the page — that's what makes freehand drawing possible. Switch back to the View tool to scroll normally.
  • Rendering uses your browser's native canvas engine, so exact color rendering can differ very slightly between browsers and operating systems.
  • Very large photos (100+ megapixels) can exceed the memory of older phones and tablets — processing happens on your device, so your hardware sets the ceiling.

Troubleshooting

  • "That file type isn't supported" — the file isn't a JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF image. Rename or re-export it first.
  • "Your browser couldn't decode this file" — the type is recognized but this browser can't read it (often AVIF on an older browser), or the file is corrupted.
  • A caption or sticker landed in the wrong spot — Undo removes one placement per step, so a few undos backtrack cleanly, and Clear ink wipes every annotation at once.
  • Very large photos are slow or fail — editing uses your device's memory; see compatibility above.

Related tools

  • Compress Image — Reduce JPG, PNG and WebP file size with quality you control.
  • Crop Image — Trim to the perfect frame or a preset aspect ratio.
  • Watermark Image — Add text or logo watermarks with opacity control.
  • Rotate Image — Rotate by 90° or flip horizontally and vertically.

Frequently asked questions

Is this online photo editor free?

Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark on your edits and no daily limit. The editing happens on your own device, which is also why there is nothing to wait for.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. The photo is decoded and edited locally in your browser and nothing is transmitted anywhere. Close the tab and everything is discarded.

Does editing change the quality of my photo?

Exports keep the original pixel dimensions and are re-rendered from the source photo, so no resolution is lost while you try Looks or move sliders. JPG and WebP output is encoded at the quality you choose (90% by default), and PNG output is lossless.

What do the one-tap Looks do?

Each Look is a preset combination of the very sliders you can move by hand — Vivid adds color and contrast, Golden warms the photo, Mono goes black & white. Tapping one sets those sliders, so you can keep fine-tuning afterwards. The exact values are listed in the table above.

Can I crop or add captions to my photo here?

Cropping has its own dedicated Crop tool. Captions are built in though: pick the Text tool, type your caption, then tap the photo to place it. The same toolbar also gives you freehand drawing, rectangles, ovals, arrows, emoji stickers, a colored frame and rounded corners. For tiled or logo watermarks, the Watermark tool is the better fit — everything stays on your device either way.

Do drawings and stickers stay put when I rotate or flip?

Yes — everything you draw, type or stamp lives on the photo itself, in photo coordinates. Rotate after drawing and the drawing rotates with it, flip and the whole picture flips together. Mis-placed something? Undo removes one step at a time, and Clear ink wipes every drawing, caption and sticker at once.

Which photo formats can I open and export?

JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF files can be opened (AVIF needs a recent browser). You can download the edited photo as JPG, PNG or WebP — PNG is the lossless choice, WebP is usually the smallest file.
