Convert images between PNG, JPEG and WebP
Drop in your images, pick an output format and download the results — all of it happens locally in your browser, so your files are never uploaded anywhere. Converting also strips EXIF metadata such as GPS coordinates automatically.

How to convert an image
-
Step 1
Add your images
Drag files onto the box or click to browse — you can queue as many as you like. Nothing is uploaded; the files stay on your device the whole time.
-
Step 2
Pick an output format
Choose JPEG for smaller photos, PNG for crisp graphics and screenshots, or WebP for the best balance of size and quality. Adjust the quality slider for lossy formats.
-
Step 3
Convert and download
Hit convert and each result appears with its new size next to the original. Download the files one by one — no waiting rooms and no watermarks.
Which format should you choose?
Each format trades size, quality and compatibility differently. Pick the row that matches what your image is for.
| Format | Best for | Transparency | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| JPEG | Photos and complex images | No | Opens everywhere; transparent areas are flattened onto white. |
| PNG | Screenshots, logos, graphics | Yes | Lossless pixel-perfect output; files are larger than the others. |
| WebP | Modern websites and apps | Yes | Usually the smallest file at equal quality; supported by all modern browsers. |
Frequently asked questions
Which formats can I convert between?
You can convert PNG, JPEG and WebP in any direction, and you can also use GIF, BMP or AVIF files as the source. The output is always PNG, JPEG or WebP — the three formats that cover virtually every everyday need.
Will converting reduce my image quality?
PNG output is lossless, so nothing is lost. JPEG and WebP use adjustable quality: the slider defaults to a balanced setting, and raising it keeps more detail at the cost of a larger file. Test a single image first if quality matters.
Does converting remove EXIF data such as location?
Yes. Re-encoding writes a brand-new file that contains only pixels, so camera metadata, GPS coordinates and timestamps from the original are not carried over. This is a privacy bonus, not a bug.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Decoding and encoding happen locally in your browser using Web Workers. Your files never leave your device, which is why the tool keeps working even on slow or offline connections.
How do I convert an image to JPG?
Load the file, pick JPEG in the output format menu and press convert. Your image to JPG copy is written locally by the browser, with EXIF metadata such as GPS location stripped in the process — handy for upload forms that only accept JPG.
Why did my PNG file get bigger after converting?
PNG is lossless and stores every pixel exactly, so some photos shrink poorly in it. If your goal is a smaller file, choose JPEG for photos or WebP for almost everything — both are built for compression.
